Emirates Steel (U.A.E.) is operating SMP-1 furnace with the latest generation of chemical energy package recently upgraded with four M-ONE injectors in place of supersonic oxygen injectors and carbon lances.
SMP-1 EAF performances have improved both in terms of productivity and overall process control decreasing electric energy usage and reducing power-on time.

The above results are related to SMP-1 150 tons EAF capacity; 130+20%MVA trafo, hot DRI at 400° C.
M-ONE injectors have been installed into CNC COPPER BULGED BLOCKS.
Due to the positive results achieved on SMP-1 furnace, Emirates Steel has awarded the order to upgrade the chemical energy package on SMP-2 EAF, startup expected by July 2018.
