Palmur - MORE | Innovation in Steelmaking: The PALMUR system is particularly suitable for electric arc furnaces that operate with a continuous charging process (scrap, DRI, HBI). The oxygen/carbon lances are housed on a carriage which is mechanically connected to the furnace movable platform therefore moving solidly with the furnace shell. The optimum distance of the lance nozzle from the liquid steel is adjusted constantly while oxygen/carbon impinging angle remain fixed as steel level within the furnace shell rises.
