TERNIUM GUERRERO ISSUES FINAL ACCEPTANCE FOR CHEMICAL ENERGY PACKAGE REVAMPING

On August 2018, Ternium Guerrero plant, Mexico, a leading steel producer in the Americas, issued the final acceptance certificate for the chemical energy package revamping of their 180 tonne EAF.

The modernisation project included the replacement of the existing injectors with the multifunctional M-ONE which integrates: burner, supersonic oxygen and carbon injection.

The project also involved the installation of machined copper bulged blocks, complete with backfire prevention system, L-ONE lime injectors, carbon dispensers, lime dispensers, oxygen/natural gas valve stands and a dedicated automation system for chemical package management.

Ternium Guerrero (located in Monterrey, MEX) is part of the larger Argentina-based Ternium organisation. The plant manufactures and processes a broad range of value-added steel products, including galvanised and electro-galvanised sheets, pre-painted sheets, tinplate, welded pipes, and hot-rolled and cold-rolled steel, with an annual production of more than 2 million tonnes of finished steel products.
